In 2009 Bob Poole returned from an eighteen year sojourn in Germany where he had been working as a bass player, guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer.
His first instinct upon returning was to get in touch with his ex-colleagues from the Chevy/Red On Red days, namely drummer Ted Duggan and guitarist extraordinaire Baz Eardley.
After a jam session at the Albany Club in Earlsdon, Coventry which brought the house down, the trio formed The Motorvators.
From the start this was to be a band where the musicians would take classic rock songs and play them their own way with an emphasis on free form jamming in the tradition of artists such as Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and Lynyrd Skynyrd with a firm eye on the spirit of the roots of this music.
The band’s reputation grew quickly, mainly due to the dazzling firework display of Baz Eardley’s guitar playing and the obvious onstage connection between him and Bob Poole whose bass playing seemed to lock in automatically to Eardley’s expressive solos.
In November 2011, Ted Duggan left for pastures new and was immediately replaced by Rick Medlock, a drummer whose vast experience of most genres of music, but especially his jazz/rock roots and open minded sense of humour, fitted perfectly into the concept that is The Motorvators.
To date, The Motorvators continue to enthral audiences wherever they play and their gig base is growing daily.
The Motorvators. Feed the frenzy, feel the fire.
